The Big Greek Cafe Information

The Big Greek Cafe brings the familiar flavors of Mediterranean cooking to Owings Mills, Maryland, offering a casual dining option for anyone craving Greek-inspired comfort food. Located at 10917 Boulevard Cir Ste 108, Owings Mills, MD 21117, United States, this restaurant is a convenient choice for local residents, nearby workers, and visitors looking for something beyond the usual burgers and sandwiches. Greek cuisine has a way of making simple ingredients feel special, especially when fresh vegetables, seasoned meats, warm pita bread, and tangy sauces come together in one satisfying meal.

One of the biggest attractions of a Greek restaurant is the variety of flavors available without making the menu feel overly complicated. At The Big Greek Cafe, diners interested in Mediterranean favorites will naturally want to explore options such as gyros, souvlaki, Greek salads, and traditional appetizers. A well-prepared gyro is all about balance: tender, savory meat, soft pita, crisp vegetables, and creamy tzatziki that adds a refreshing garlic-and-yogurt finish. Chicken souvlaki offers another appealing direction, particularly for those who enjoy grilled meats with bright lemon and herb flavors. Checking the current menu is worthwhile, since specific dishes, combinations, and availability can vary.

The casual dining concept also makes this type of restaurant particularly appealing for everyday meals. Whether someone is grabbing lunch during a busy workday, picking up dinner for the family, or meeting a friend for a relaxed bite, Mediterranean food offers plenty of flexibility. Sharing appetizers such as hummus, spanakopita, or stuffed grape leaves can turn a quick meal into something more social, while a hearty platter with rice, vegetables, and grilled protein provides a more substantial option. Vegetarian diners may also appreciate the emphasis Greek cooking places on legumes, fresh produce, olive oil, and flavorful seasonings.

When evaluating The Big Greek Cafe, food quality and consistency are especially important. Fresh pita should be soft rather than dry, grilled meats should retain their moisture, and salads benefit from crisp vegetables and a balanced dressing. Service matters just as much, particularly when customers need help understanding unfamiliar dishes or choosing between sandwiches and platters. Customer reviews can be useful for comparing portion sizes, ordering experiences, food freshness, and overall value, although individual visits may differ.

The Owings Mills location adds practical appeal for people searching for Greek food in the surrounding Baltimore County area. For diners comparing nearby lunch and dinner options, menu variety, reasonable portions, convenient takeout, and the combination of savory grilled dishes with lighter Mediterranean sides are all worth considering. Traditional Greek desserts, including baklava when available, can add another layer to the meal, with flaky pastry, nuts, and sweet syrup providing a rich contrast to the lemony, herb-forward flavors of the main dishes.

What People's Say About Place

I stopped into Big Greek Cafe in Owings Mills while I was in town on business and was really glad I did. If you are looking for Mediterranean food that is fresh, flavorful, and filling, this place is a great choice. The restaurant itself is more of a fast casual style setup, nothing fancy inside, but do not let that fool you because the food was excellent. I started with the falafel appetizer, which came with five falafel balls, tzatziki sauce, and a fresh little lettuce and tomato mix on the side. The falafel was perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside, warm inside, and very fresh tasting. The tzatziki was a great match and everything had a clean, homemade flavor. For my main meal, I ordered the Big Greek Feast and it was a ton of food. It came with gyro meat, grilled chicken skewers, pita bread, feta cheese, a pepper, and a lemon wedge, plus two sides. I chose rice and salad, and both were excellent. The salad was very fresh and surprisingly filling, and the rice was seasoned perfectly. Everything tasted well prepared and full of flavor. Portions were generous enough that I could not finish it all and ended up getting a second meal out of it, which is always a plus. The staff was friendly and welcoming, the bathrooms were very clean, and overall the experience was great. This was an excellent stop for Mediterranean food and I would definitely come back again.

It was ok My daughter was attending a local dance competition so this was my first time trying the Owings Mills location. Greek, in my opinion, should always have plenty of feta and this is largely why they were only "OK" I ordered a Greek salad with salmon, a famous gyro pita for my MIL, feta fries to share and I grabbed a rice pudding when I picked up. The salad was good but there was more tomato than lettuce, not much feta. The feta fries were hot and crispy with great flavor but as you can see from the pic... Also barely any feta. Very disappointing. I also asked for feta on the gyro, which was an extra charge (I've never had one that didn't come with feta) and again, very little was on it. You get the theme... The rice pudding stole the show! It was good and creamy. Overall, I felt like it was just Ok, especially considering these four items were $47 bucks for two mediocre meals.

I don’t like the spring mix lettuce that they use in the Greek salad. I would’ve liked to see more feta and more calamari olives. Salad was just average. It came with some pita bread

Amazing food! The gyro was fresh and the meat was tender. The fries were so crispy and everything was reasonably priced. It was very filling and it was just so good. The girl behind the counter was very attentive and brought everything right to our table. I will definitely be returning!

We tried out the new Greek restaurant and we were not disappointed!!!! First, I was so happy to see how busy they were. We were there around 7p on a Sunday, they were packed, and people just kept coming in. Always a great sight with a new restaurant! As we waited for our food, I overheard friends talking to each other and the one saying she comes all the time and gets the same thing every time bc it is so good. (Btw, she gets the Greek salad with chicken!) We ate the Greek bowl with chicken, feisty feta, and the Greek fries. I can see why that person eats there routinely!! Our food was amazing!!!!! I look forward to returning many, many times!! As we were outside eating, I observed an employee run outside after a patron because he forgot to place the hummus in the to go bag. He apologized and went back inside. This is superior customer service!!! And that creates loyal customers! Well done on his part!! We will absolutely return!

Wish there was 6 stars! We have been waiting for this location of Big Greek Cafe to open since announced. Everything here is delicious. The perfect place for lunch or dinner. Love the gyros, souvlaki , Greek fries , everything is delicious !!!
